Method
Fried Chicken Strips
- 1
Prepare Chicken
Cut chicken breasts into strips and place them in a bowl. Pour buttermilk over the chicken, ensuring all pieces are coated. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour or overnight.
- 2
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a separate bowl, combine flour, cornstarch, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
- 3
Heat Oil
In a deep skillet or fryer, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
- 4
Coat Chicken
Remove chicken strips from buttermilk and shake off excess. Dredge each strip in the flour mixture, pressing lightly to adhere.
- 5
Fry Chicken
Carefully place coated chicken strips in hot oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for 5-7 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and drain on paper towels.
Texas Toast
- 6
Prepare Butter Mixture
In a small bowl, mix softened butter with garlic powder until well combined.
- 7
Pickle Spears
- 8
Slice Pickles
