Method

Cooking Pasta

  1. 1

    Boil Water

In a large pot, bring 4 liters of water to a boil. Add 1 teaspoon of salt.

  2. 2

    Cook Pasta

Add 200 grams of pasta to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions (usually about 8-10 minutes) until al dente. Stir occasionally.

  3. 3

    Drain Pasta

Once cooked, drain the pasta in a colander, reserving about 1/2 cup of pasta water for later use.

Preparing Sauce

  1. 4

    Sauté Garlic

While the pasta is cooking, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add 3 minced garlic cloves and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

  2. 5

    Add Tomatoes

Add 250 grams of halved cherry tomatoes to the skillet. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until the tomatoes are soft and start to burst.

  3. 6

    Season Sauce

Add salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using) to the mixture. Stir well to combine.

Combining Ingredients

  1. 7

    Combine Pasta and Sauce

Add the drained pasta to the skillet with the tomato mixture. Toss to combine, adding the reserved pasta water a little at a time until the desired consistency is reached.

  2. 8

    Add Fresh Basil

Tear the fresh basil leaves and mix them into the pasta. Stir well to ensure even distribution.

  3. 9

    Serve

Serve the pasta warm, topped with grated Parmesan cheese.
