Blondies

Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream

Method

Blondies

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.

  2. 2

    Melt the Butter

In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the 1 cup of unsalted butter. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

  3. 3

    Mix Sugars

In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, 1 cup of brown sugar, and 1 cup of granulated sugar. Stir until well combined.

  4. 4

    Add Eggs and Vanilla

Add 2 large eggs and 2 tsp of vanilla extract to the sugar mixture. Mix until well combined.

  5. 5

    Combine Dry Ingredients

In another bowl, whisk together 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 tsp of baking powder, and 1 tsp of salt.

  6. 6

    Combine Mixtures

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.

  7. 7

    Add Chocolate and Pretzels

Fold in 1 cup of white chocolate chips and 1 cup of chopped pretzels.

  8. 8

    Bake

Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

  9. 9

    Cool

Allow the blondies to cool in the pan for at least 15 minutes before cutting into squares.

Toffee Sauce

  1. 10

    Melt Ingredients

In a saucepan over medium heat, combine 1 cup of unsalted butter, 1 cup of brown sugar, and 1 cup of heavy cream. Stir until the mixture is smooth.

  2. 11

    Add Vanilla

Once the mixture is boiling, reduce the heat and let it simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in 1 tsp of vanilla extract.

  3. 12

    Cool Slightly

Let the toffee sauce cool slightly before serving.

Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream

  1. 13

    Mix Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, whisk together 2 cups of heavy cream, 1 cup of whole milk, 3 tbs of granulated sugar, 2 tsp of vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until the sugar is dissolved.

  2. 14

    Chill Mixture

Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until completely chilled.

  3. 15

    Churn Ice Cream

Pour the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.

  4. 16

    Freeze

Transfer the ice cream to an airtight container and freeze for at least 4 hours or until firm.
