Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Cheese
Cut the mozzarella cheese into 1/2-inch thick sticks. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and freeze for about 30 minutes to firm up.
Breading
- 2
- 3
Bread the Cheese
Remove the cheese sticks from the freezer. Dredge each stick in the flour, shaking off the excess, then dip into the beaten eggs, and finally coat with the breadcrumb mixture. Ensure each stick is evenly coated. Place breaded sticks back on the parchment-lined baking sheet.
Frying
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 5
Fry the Mozzarella Sticks
Carefully add a few breaded mozzarella sticks to the hot oil, frying them in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown, turning occasionally for even cooking.
- 6
Drain the Sticks
Using a slotted spoon, remove the mozzarella sticks from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
Serving
- 7
Serve with Marinara
Arrange the fried mozzarella sticks on a serving plate and serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping.
