Cooking Instructions
- 1
Cook the Fettuccine
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
- 2
Prepare the Sauce
In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter. Once melted, add the heavy cream and simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring frequently.
- 3
Add Cheese and Seasoning
Gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until smooth and creamy. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to your taste. Continue to cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the cheese is fully melted and the sauce is thickened.
- 4
Combine Pasta and Sauce
Once the fettuccine is cooked, reserve about 1/2 cup of the pasta water, then drain the pasta. Add the drained fettuccine directly into the skillet with the Alfredo sauce. Toss to coat the pasta evenly, adding reserved pasta water as needed to reach desired sauce consistency.
- 5
Serve
Remove from heat, plate the fettuccine Alfredo, and garnish with chopped fresh parsley. Optionally, add more grated Parmesan on top before serving.
