Cooking Directions

1

Prepare the Steak

Season the hanger steak with salt and pepper. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the steak for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare. Let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

2

Make Guacamole

In a bowl, mash the ripe avocados with a fork. Add salt, pepper, and lime juice (to taste). Mix until creamy and set aside.

3

Fry Plantains

Peel and slice the plantains diagonally into thick pieces. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry the plantain slices until golden brown on both sides. Remove and drain on paper towels.

4

Poach the Eggs

Bring a pot of water to a simmer and add a splash of vinegar. Crack each egg into a small bowl, then gently slide them into the simmering water. Poach for about 3-4 minutes until the whites are set. Remove with a slotted spoon.

5

Assemble the Dish

On a plate, place the fried plantains as a base. Top with a generous spoonful of guacamole, sliced hanger steak, a poached egg, pickled onions, and drizzle with salsa macha. Serve with a side salad of mixed greens.
