Burger Patties

Method

Prepare the Patties

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently with your hands until just combined. Avoid over-mixing to keep the patties tender.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about 1 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing up while cooking.

Cook the Patties

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Pan

Preheat your grill or a skillet over medium-high heat. If using a skillet, you can add a little oil to prevent sticking.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip them over. Place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and cook for another 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the patties reach your desired doneness.

Assemble the Burgers

  1. 5

    Toast the Buns (Optional)

If desired, toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  2. 6

    Build Your Burger

On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by a cooked patty with melted cheese, a slice of tomato (sliced into rounds), and ketchup and mustard to taste. Top with the other half of the bun.
