Bruschetta Base

Method

Prepare the Baguette

  1. 1

    Slice the Baguette

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Slice the baguette into 1/2-inch thick slices.

  2. 2

    Brush with Olive Oil

Place the sliced baguette on a baking sheet. Brush each slice with olive oil on one side.

  3. 3

    Toast the Bread

Toast the baguette slices in the preheated oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until golden brown and crisp.

  4. 4

    Rub with Garlic

Once toasted, remove from the oven and immediately rub the garlic clove over the top of each slice for added flavor.

Prepare the Tomato Topping

  1. 5

    Chop the Tomatoes

Dice the fresh tomatoes into small pieces and place them in a mixing bowl.

  2. 6

    Add Basil

Finely chop the fresh basil leaves and add them to the bowl with the tomatoes.

  3. 7

    Season the Mixture

Add balsamic vinegar, salt, and black pepper to the tomato and basil mixture. Stir gently to combine.

  4. 8

    Let it Marinate

Allow the mixture to sit for at least 10 minutes to let the flavors meld together.

Assemble and Serve

  1. 9

    Top the Toasts

Spoon the tomato topping generously onto each toasted baguette slice.

  2. 10

    Serve Immediately

Serve the bruschetta immediately as an appetizer or snack.
