Churros

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Churro Dough

In a medium saucepan, combine water, butter, and sugar. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Once boiling, remove from heat and stir in flour, salt, and cinnamon until a dough forms.

  2. 2

    Add Eggs

Allow the dough to cool slightly, then add eggs one at a time, mixing until fully incorporated after each addition. The dough should be smooth and thick.

  3. 3

    Heat Oil

In a deep skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  4. 4

    Pipe the Churros

Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Pipe strips of dough into the hot oil, cutting with scissors to release. Fry until golden brown on all sides, about 2-3 minutes.

  5. 5

    Coat with Cinnamon Sugar

Remove churros from oil and drain on paper towels. In a shallow dish, combine granulated sugar and cinnamon. Roll churros in the mixture while they are still warm.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve churros warm with caramel sauce and hot chocolate for dipping.
