Method

Fried Green Tomatoes

  1. 1

    Prepare the Tomatoes

Slice the green tomatoes into 1/2 inch thick slices. Season with salt and pepper.

  2. 2

    Set Up Breading Station

In one bowl, place the all-purpose flour. In a second bowl, pour the buttermilk. In a third bowl, add the cornmeal mixed with a pinch of salt and pepper.

  3. 3

    Bread the Tomatoes

Coat each slice of tomato in flour, then dip in buttermilk, and finally coat in cornmeal.

  4. 4

    Fry the Tomatoes

In a large skillet, heat the oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, fry the breaded tomatoes until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.

Bacon

  1. 5

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet, cook the bacon strips over medium heat until crispy. Remove from the skillet and drain on paper towels.

Lettuce and Tomatoes

  1. 6

    Prepare Fresh Ingredients

Slice the red tomato into thick slices. Rinse and dry the lettuce leaves.

Garlic Aioli

  1. 7

    Make the Aioli

In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, minced garlic, lemon juice, and salt. Mix well until smooth and creamy.

Biscuits

  1. 8

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).

  2. 9

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.

  3. 10

    Incorporate Butter

Cut the butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.

  4. 11

    Add Milk and Form Dough

Stir in milk until just combined. Do not overmix.

  5. 12

    Shape and Bake

Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
