1. Melt Chocolate and Butter

In a saucepan over low heat, melt the dark chocolate and unsalted butter together until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

2. Whisk Eggs and Sugar

In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs and sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy.

3. Combine Mixtures

Gradually add the melted chocolate mixture to the egg mixture, stirring constantly to combine.

4. Add Dry Ingredients

Sift in the ground almonds and cocoa powder, folding gently until just combined.

5. Bake the Cake

Pour the batter into a greased and lined 9-inch (23 cm) round cake pan. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for about 25-30 minutes, or until set. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
