Method
Polenta Preparation
- 1
Boil Water
In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Add 1 teaspoon of salt to the water.
- 2
Add Cornmeal
Once the water is boiling, gradually whisk in 1 cup of cornmeal to prevent lumps from forming.
- 3
Cook Polenta
Reduce the heat to low and cook the polenta, stirring frequently, for about 30 minutes until it thickens and pulls away from the sides of the pot.
- 4
Add Butter and Cheese
Remove the pot from heat and stir in 2 tablespoons of butter and 0.5 cups of grated Parmesan cheese until melted and well combined.
- 5
Season
Season with black pepper to taste and serve hot as a side dish or a base for other toppings.
