Cocktail
- 1
Build and shake
Chill a coupe or Nick & Nora glass by filling it with ice and set aside. In a cocktail shaker add Campesino Aged Rum (2 oz), Aperol (0.75 oz), Montenegro Amaro (0.5 oz), fresh lime juice (0.5 oz), simple syrup (0.25 oz) and 2 dashes of Angostura bitters. Fill the shaker with ice (about 1 cup) until nearly full.
- 2
Shake
Seal the shaker and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds, until the shaker is very cold to the touch and the exterior shows condensation. This both chills and properly dilutes the drink.

Strain
Double-strain the cocktail into the chilled glass using a Hawthorne and fine mesh strainer to remove small ice shards and any pulp from the lime juice. This yields a smooth, clean presentation.
- 5
Garnish
Float a fresh lime wheel on the surface. If using an orange twist, express the oils over the drink and, for added aroma, briefly flame the twist (carefully hold a lit match or lighter flame near the twist while squeezing to spray oils through the flame) and drop it into the glass.

Serve
Serve immediately while chilled. Recommend enjoying as a 1- to 2-sip aperitif-style cocktail that balances the aged rum's depth with Aperol's brightness and Montenegro's bittersweet herbal complexity.
