Method

Preparation of Coffee Mixture

  1. 1

    Brew Coffee

Brew a strong cup of coffee and let it cool to room temperature.

  2. 2

    Mix Coffee with Liqueur

In a shallow bowl, combine the brewed coffee with granulated sugar and coffee liqueur, stirring until the sugar dissolves.

Preparation of Cheese Filling

  1. 3

    Whisk Egg Yolks

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and 1 tablespoon of sugar until pale and fluffy.

  2. 4

    Add Mascarpone

Gently fold in the mascarpone cheese to the egg yolk mixture until smooth.

  3. 5

    Whip Heavy Cream

In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form.

  4. 6

    Combine Mixtures

Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully incorporated. Add vanilla extract and mix well.

Assembling the Tiramisu

  1. 7

    Dip Ladyfingers

Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, making sure not to soak them too long.

  2. 8

    Layering

In a serving dish, create a layer of soaked ladyfingers. Spread half of the mascarpone filling over the ladyfingers.

  3. 9

    Repeat Layers

Add another layer of dipped ladyfingers followed by the remaining mascarpone filling.

Final Touches and Refrigeration

  1. 10

    Chill Tiramisu

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.

  2. 11

    Serve

Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder and add chocolate shavings if desired.
