Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Rub the ribeye steak with olive oil, then season generously with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder on both sides.

  2. 2

    Cook the Steak

Preheat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Once hot, place the seasoned ribeye on the grill or skillet. Cook for approximately 4-5 minutes on one side for medium-rare, then flip and cook for an additional 4 minutes on the other side. Adjust time based on desired doneness.

  3. 3

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from heat and let it rest for about 5 minutes before slicing. This helps retain juices.

Garlic Mashed Potatoes Preparation

  1. 4

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel and chop the russet potatoes into equal-sized chunks. This ensures even cooking.

  2. 5

    Cook the Potatoes

Place the chopped potatoes in a pot of salted water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for about 15-20 minutes or until the potatoes are fork-tender.

  3. 6

    Mince the Garlic

While the potatoes are cooking, mince the garlic cloves.

  4. 7

    Mash the Potatoes

Drain the cooked potatoes and return them to the pot. Add butter, minced garlic, milk, and salt. Mash until smooth and creamy. Adjust seasoning with black pepper to taste.
