Method

Preparation of Egg Custard

  1. 1

    Whisk Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, crack the eggs and whisk them together until well beaten. Add in the milk, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Continue whisking until the mixture is smooth and fully combined.

Preparing the Bread

  1. 2

    Dip Brioche Slices

Take each slice of brioche bread and dip it into the egg custard mixture, ensuring both sides are fully coated. Allow excess custard to drip off before proceeding.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Heat Pan

In a large skillet or frying pan, heat a little butter over medium heat until melted and bubbling.

  2. 4

    Cook French Toast

Place the dipped brioche slices in the hot skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and slightly crispy. Adjust the heat as needed to prevent burning.

Serving

  1. 5

    Plate and Serve

Once cooked, remove the French toast from the skillet and place it on a plate. Serve warm with maple syrup drizzled on top, a dusting of powdered sugar, and fresh berries on the side.
