Pizza Dough
Method
Pizza Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Dough
In a small bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy. In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center, add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.
- 2
Knead the Dough
Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Form it into a ball.
- 3
Let it Rise
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.
- 4
Shape the Pizza
Preheat your stone oven to 475°F (245°C). Punch down the risen dough and divide it into two portions. Roll out one portion on a floured surface into a 12-inch circle. Transfer to a pizza peel or stone.
- 5
Add Toppings
Add your favorite sauce, cheese, and toppings of choice evenly over the dough.
- 6
Bake the Pizza
Carefully slide the pizza onto the preheated stone in the oven. Bake for about 10-12 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
- 7
Serve
Remove the pizza from the oven, let it cool for a minute, slice, and serve hot.
