Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.

  2. 2

    Make Dough

In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Add in the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.

  3. 3

    Knead Dough

Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic.

  4. 4

    Let Dough Rise

Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Pizza Assembly

  1. 5

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).

  2. 6

    Shape Dough

Once risen, punch down the dough and roll it out into a thin round shape on a floured surface.

  3. 7

    Add Toppings

Place the rolled dough on a pizza stone or baking sheet. Slice the fresh tomatoes and mozzarella, and arrange them evenly on the dough. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle salt and pepper to taste.

  4. 8

    Bake Pizza

Bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.

  5. 9

    Garnish

Remove from oven and top with fresh basil leaves before serving.
