In a large brew kettle, heat 3 gallons of filtered water to 165°F (74°C). Add the crushed grains (Pale Malt, Caramel Malt, and Munich Malt) to the water and maintain a temperature of 150°F (65°C) for 60 minutes.

Mashing

After mashing, sparge the grains with an additional 2 gallons of heated water at 170°F (77°C) to collect wort in the brew kettle.

Sparging

Bring the wort to a boil, add Hallertau hops for bitterness, and boil for 60 minutes. Add Saaz hops in the last 15 minutes of the boil for aroma.

Boiling

After boiling, cool the wort quickly using a wort chiller or an ice bath to around 70°F (21°C).

Cooling

Transfer the cooled wort to a sanitized fermentation vessel, pitch the lager yeast, and seal with an airlock. Ferment at 50°F (10°C) for 2 weeks.

Fermentation

After fermentation, lower the temperature to 35°F (2°C) and lager for an additional 4 weeks to develop flavor.

Lagering

Once lagering is complete, bottle the beer with priming sugar to carbonate. Allow to carbonate for 2 weeks at room temperature.

Bottling

Chill the bottles in the refrigerator and enjoy your homemade Lost Craft ‘Revivale’ Lagered Ale!
