Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Glass
Begin by chilling an Old Fashioned glass. You can do this by filling it with ice water and letting it sit while you prepare the drink.
- 2
Mix the Ingredients
In a mixing glass, add 2 oz of bourbon, 0.5 oz of cardamom syrup, 2 dashes of Angostura bitters, and 0.25 tsp of vanilla extract.
- 3
Add Ice
Fill the mixing glass with ice to the top and stir the mixture gently for about 30 seconds to chill and dilute the drink.
- 4
Strain into Glass
Discard the ice water from the Old Fashioned glass and strain the mixed drink into the glass over fresh ice.
- 5
Garnish
Express the oils from an orange peel over the drink by holding it over the glass and giving it a twist. Then, drop the peel into the drink as a garnish.
