For the Meat

Method

Preparing the Meat

  1. 1

    Mixing the Meat

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef and ground lamb. Add the finely chopped onion, minced garlic, ground cumin, ground coriander, paprika, salt, black pepper, and olive oil. Mix well using your hands or a spoon until everything is evenly combined.

  2. 2

    Shaping the Patties

Form the meat mixture into oval-shaped patties, about 1 inch thick. You should have approximately 8 patties.

  3. 3

    Cooking the Patties

Heat a large skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Add a little olive oil to the pan. Cook the patties for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until they are well browned and cooked through.

Making the Tzatziki Sauce

  1. 4

    Combine Ingredients

In a medium bowl, mix together the Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, minced garlic, lemon juice, chopped dill, and salt. Stir until well combined.

  2. 5

    Chill the Sauce

Cover the tzatziki sauce and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.

Assembling the Platter

  1. 6

    Prepare the Pita and Vegetables

Warm the pita bread in a dry skillet or microwave until soft. Slice the tomato and red onion, and prepare the shredded lettuce.

  2. 7

    Serve the Platter

On a large serving platter, arrange the cooked meat patties, warm pita bread, sliced tomato, sliced red onion, shredded lettuce, and crumbled feta cheese. Serve with the tzatziki sauce on the side.
