Method

Prepare the Rice

  1. 1

    Cook the Basmat Rice

Rinse 1 cup of basmati rice under cold water until the water runs clear. In a saucepan, add the rinsed rice and 2 cups of water. Bring to a boil, then reduce to low heat, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes. Once cooked, fluff with a fork and set aside.

Prepare the Meat

  1. 2

    Cook the Beef and Lamb

In a large skillet over medium heat, add 0.5 lbs of ground beef and 0.5 lbs of ground lamb. Break it apart with a spoon. Season with garlic powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Cook for about 8-10 minutes or until the meat is browned and cooked through. Stir occasionally to ensure even cooking.

Prepare the Vegetables

  1. 3

    Chop Fresh Ingredients

While the meat is cooking, wash and chop the romaine lettuce into bite-sized pieces. Dice the tomato, thinly slice the red onion, and peel and slice the cucumber into half-moons. Set all chopped vegetables aside.

Assemble the Bowl

  1. 4

    Layer the Ingredients

In a bowl, start with a base of cooked basmati rice. Top with a generous portion of the cooked beef and lamb mixture. Add the chopped romaine lettuce, diced tomato, sliced red onion, and cucumber. Drizzle with granch sauce to taste.
