Whole Branzino w/Tomato & Ginger
Method
Preparation Instructions
- 1
Prep the Branzino
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Rinse the whole branzino under cold water and pat it dry with paper towels. Make three diagonal cuts on each side of the fish, about 1 inch apart, to ensure even cooking.
- 2
Season the Fish
Rub the olive oil all over the branzino, including inside the cavity. Sprinkle the salt and black pepper evenly over the fish, making sure to coat the inside as well. This will enhance the flavor.
- 3
Prepare the Tomato and Ginger Mixture
In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped tomatoes, grated ginger, minced garlic, and chopped basil. Mix well to combine all the ingredients.
- 4
Stuff the Fish
Stuff the cavity of the branzino with the tomato and ginger mixture. Place lemon slices inside the cavity on top of the mixture for added flavor.
- 5
Bake the Fish
Place the stuffed branzino on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
- 6
Serve
Once cooked, remove the fish from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes. Serve warm, garnished with additional fresh basil if desired.
