Base Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, unsweetened cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.

  3. 3

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, whisk the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract until well combined.

  4. 4

    Combine and Mix

Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients. Stir until just combined, ensuring not to overmix.

  5. 5

    Bake

Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  6. 6

    Cool

Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Frosting Preparation

  1. 7

    Prepare the Frosting

In a medium bowl, beat the butter until creamy. Gradually add the unsweetened cocoa powder and powdered sugar, alternating with the milk. Mix until smooth and creamy.

  2. 8

    Add Vanilla

Stir in the vanilla extract until fully incorporated.

  3. 9

    Frost the Cake

Once the cake has cooled completely, spread the frosting evenly over the top of the cake.

Garnishing the Cake

  1. 10

    Add Garnishes

Sprinkle chocolate shavings and arrange fresh raspberries on top of the frosted cake for decoration.
