Method

Cake Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking dish.

  2. 2

    Combine Dry Ingredients

In a bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

  3. 3

    Cream Butter and Sugar

In a large mixing bowl, beat the unsalted butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.

  4. 4

    Add Eggs and Vanilla

Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

  5. 5

    Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients

Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

  6. 6

    Bake the Cake

Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Milk Mixture Preparation

  1. 7

    Mix Milk Ingredients

In a medium bowl, combine the sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, whole milk, and coconut milk. Whisk until smooth.

Assembly and Topping

  1. 8

    Soak the Cake

Once the cake is baked and slightly cooled, poke holes all over the top using a fork. Slowly pour the milk mixture evenly over the cake, allowing it to soak in.

  2. 9

    Whip the Cream

In a separate bowl, beat the heavy whipping cream and powdered sugar together until stiff peaks form.

  3. 10

    Top the Cake

Spread the whipped cream over the soaked cake evenly. Sprinkle with ground cinnamon and garnish with cherries or strawberries.

  4. 11

    Chill and Serve

Refrigerate the cake for at least 2 hours before serving to allow the flavors to meld together.
