Base Preparation

1

Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.

2

Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Whisk together until evenly mixed.

3

Combine Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, melt the unsalted butter and let it cool slightly. Add the whole milk and large eggs to the melted butter and whisk until well combined.

4

Combine Mixtures

Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

5

Bake the Cake

Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

6

Cool the Cake

Once baked, remove the cakes from the oven and let them cool in the pans for 10 minutes. Then, transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Emerald Frosting Preparation

7

Make the Frosting

In a large mixing bowl, beat the unsalted butter until creamy. Gradually add the powdered sugar, heavy cream, green food coloring, and vanilla extract. Beat until smooth and fluffy.

8

Frost the Cake

Once the cakes are completely cool, place one layer on a serving plate and spread a generous amount of emerald frosting on top. Place the second layer on top and frost the top and sides of the cake.

Decoration

9

Decorate the Cake

Gently apply the edible gold leaf to the top of the cake for a luxurious touch. Then, sprinkle the chopped pistachios around the edges for added texture and flavor.
