Main Ingredients

Wheat Toast

Optional Seasoning

Method

Cooking the Bacon

  1. 1

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon slices for about 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally until crispy. Remove from the skillet and place on a paper towel to drain excess grease.

Cooking the Egg

  1. 2

    Fry the Egg

In the same skillet, add a little butter if necessary and crack the egg into the skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes for sunny side up, or flip for over-easy, cooking an additional 1-2 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Cooking the Wild Rice

  1. 3

    Prepare Wild Rice

In a small pot, bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Add 1 cup of wild rice and reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for about 45-50 minutes, or until rice is tender and water has absorbed. Fluff with a fork before serving.

Toasting the Bread

  1. 4

    Toast the Wheat Bread

While the rice is cooking, toast the whole wheat bread slices in a toaster or on a skillet until golden brown.

Serving

  1. 5

    Plate the Breakfast

On a plate, arrange the crispy bacon, fried egg, wild rice, and toasted wheat bread. Serve immediately while hot.
