Method

Brittle Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Candied Macadamia Brittle

In a saucepan, combine the granulated sugar and water. Cook over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves and the mixture comes to a boil.

  2. 2

    Add the Nuts

Once boiling, add the macadamia nuts. Stir constantly until the mixture turns a golden brown color, about 5-7 minutes.

  3. 3

    Cool the Brittle

Remove from heat and stir in the butter until melted. Pour the mixture onto a parchment-lined baking sheet and spread it into an even layer. Allow it to cool completely before breaking into pieces.

French Toast Preparation

  1. 4

    Prepare the Egg Mixture

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt until well combined.

  2. 5

    Dip the Bread

Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium heat. Dip each slice of challah bread into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are coated well.

  3. 6

    Cook the French Toast

Place the coated bread slices onto the preheated skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.

Serving

  1. 7

    Serve the French Toast

Plate the French toast slices, top with pieces of the candied macadamia brittle, a dollop of hazelnut cocoa spread, and drizzle with coconut syrup. Enjoy!
