Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure it reaches the right temperature while you prepare the batter.

  2. 2

    Prepare Baking Pan

Grease and flour a small baking pan (8-inch square or similar) to prevent sticking.

Mixing Ingredients

  1. 3

    Combine Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

  2. 4

    Mix Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, whisk together the whole milk, melted unsalted butter, vanilla extract, and eggs until smooth.

  3. 5

    Combine Mixtures

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

  4. 6

    Add Optional Ingredients

If desired, fold in the chocolate chips and/or chopped nuts for added flavor and texture.

Baking

  1. 7

    Pour Batter

Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.

  2. 8

    Bake

Place the baking pan in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  3. 9

    Cool

Once baked, remove the pan from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
