  1. 1

    Chill the Mixing Glass

Start by chilling your mixing glass. Fill it with ice and let it sit while you gather your other ingredients.

  2. 2

    Combine Ingredients

In the chilled mixing glass, add 2 oz of Rye Whiskey, 1 oz of Sweet Vermouth, and 0.5 oz of Aged Rum.

  3. 3

    Add Bitters

Add 2 dashes of Peychaud's Bitters to the mixing glass.

  4. 4

    Stir the Mixture

Using a bar spoon, stir the mixture gently for about 30 seconds to chill and combine all the ingredients thoroughly.

  5. 5

    Strain into Glass

Remove the ice from your mixing glass, and strain the cocktail mixture into a chilled rocks glass.

  6. 6

    Garnish

Express the oils from a piece of orange peel over the drink and drop it into the glass. Add a Maraschino cherry on top for garnish.
