Preparation
- 1
Infuse Coconut-Washed Bourbon
In a jar, combine 2 oz of bourbon with 1 oz of coconut cream. Seal the jar and shake well. Let it sit for 12 hours at room temperature. After infusing, freeze the jar for 1 hour; then, remove the solid coconut cream layer that forms on top, leaving the infused bourbon.
- 2
Prepare the Cocktail
In a cocktail shaker, combine the infused bourbon (about 2 oz), 0.5 oz of simple syrup, and 3 cardamom pods. Muddle the cardamom gently to release its aroma.
- 3
Add Bitters and Ice
Add 2 dashes of espresso bitters and fill the shaker with 1 cup of ice cubes. Shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds until well chilled.
- 4
Strain and Serve
Strain the mixture into a chilled glass. You can serve it straight up or over a large ice cube for a slow melt.
