Shrimp Mixture

Whipped Honey Brown Butter

For Frying

Method

Preparation of Shrimp Mixture

  1. 1

    Chop and Mix Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the peeled and deveined shrimp, minced garlic, chopped green onions, chopped cilantro, beaten egg, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.

Bread Preparation

  1. 2

    Prepare the Bread

Take the slices of white bread and flatten them using a rolling pin. This will help the shrimp mixture stick better to the bread.

Assembly

  1. 3

    Spread the Shrimp Mixture

Evenly spread the shrimp mixture on one side of each slice of flattened bread.

Whipped Honey Brown Butter

  1. 4

    Make the Brown Butter

In a saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat. Continue to cook it, stirring regularly, until it turns golden brown and has a nutty aroma. Be careful not to burn it.

  2. 5

    Add Honey and Salt

Once the butter is browned, remove it from heat and stir in the honey and sea salt until well mixed. Let it cool slightly.

Frying

  1. 6

    Heat the Oil

In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until hot.

  2. 7

    Fry the Toast

Carefully place the bread slices shrimp-side down into the hot oil. Fry for about 3-4 minutes or until the shrimp is cooked through and the bread is golden brown. Flip carefully and fry for an additional 1-2 minutes if needed.

  3. 8

    Drain and Serve

Once fried, remove the shrimp toast from the skillet and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve warm drizzled with the whipped honey brown butter.
