Pimento Cheese Spread

Crostini

Method

Pimento Cheese Spread

  1. 1

    Mix the Cheese Base

In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded sharp cheddar cheese and softened cream cheese. Use a hand mixer or a spatula to blend until smooth and creamy.

  2. 2

    Add Pimentos

Fold in the diced pimentos until evenly distributed throughout the cheese mixture.

  3. 3

    Incorporate Mayonnaise and Spices

Stir in the mayonnaise, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Mix until all ingredients are well combined.

  4. 4

    Taste and Adjust Seasoning

Taste the pimento cheese spread and adjust the seasoning with additional salt and black pepper if desired.

  5. 5

    Chill

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the pimento cheese for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld.

Crostini

  1. 6

    Prepare the Baguette

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Slice the baguette into 1/2 inch thick slices.

  2. 7

    Brush with Olive Oil

Arrange the baguette slices on a baking sheet and brush each slice lightly with olive oil on both sides.

  3. 8

    Toast the Crostini

Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and toast for about 8-10 minutes, or until the crostini are golden brown and crispy.

  4. 9

    Cool

Remove the crostini from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving.
