Blackened Salmon Ingredients

Method

Cooking Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Spice Mix

In a small bowl, combine paprika, cayenne pepper, thyme, oregano, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt. Mix well until evenly blended.

  2. 2

    Season the Salmon

Pat the salmon fillets dry with a paper towel. Rub the spice mixture generously over both sides of the salmon fillets, ensuring they are well coated.

  3. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until it is hot but not smoking.

  4. 4

    Cook the Salmon

Carefully place the seasoned salmon fillets in the hot skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, until a dark crust forms. Flip the fillets and cook for another 3-4 minutes on the other side, until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.

  5. 5

    Serve

Remove the salmon from the skillet and let it rest for a couple of minutes. Serve with lemon wedges on the side for squeezing over the salmon.
