Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Chill the Glass

Start by chilling your glass by placing it in the freezer for about 10 minutes or filling it with ice water while you prepare the bourbon.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Ice

Fill a mixing glass or cocktail shaker with ice. Use enough ice to chill the bourbon effectively.

  3. 3

    Measure the Bourbon

Pour 2 ounces (60 ml) of Willett 12 Year Bourbon over the ice in the mixing glass.

  4. 4

    Add Water (Optional)

If you prefer a slightly diluted bourbon, add 2 tablespoons of water to the mixing glass with the bourbon.

  5. 5

    Stir the Mixture

Using a bar spoon, stir the bourbon and ice mixture gently for about 30 seconds until well chilled.

  6. 6

    Strain into Glass

Remove the chilled glass from the freezer (or empty the ice water) and strain the bourbon mixture into the glass.

  7. 7

    Garnish

Garnish your drink with 2 cocktail cherries and a twist of orange peel for added flavor and aroma.
