Potato Preparation

Method

Potato Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Potatoes

Wash and peel the Russet potatoes. Cut them into thin strips (about 1/4 inch thick) to form fries.

  2. 2

    Soak the Fries

Place the cut fries into a bowl of cold water and let them soak for at least 30 minutes. This helps to remove excess starch and makes the fries crispier.

  3. 3

    Dry the Fries

After soaking, drain the fries and pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel or paper towels to remove as much moisture as possible.

  4. 4

    Season the Fries

In a large bowl, toss the dried fries with olive oil, salt, and black pepper until evenly coated.

Cooking the Fries

  1. 5

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

  2. 6

    Bake the Fries

Spread the seasoned fries in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy.

Topping and Serving

  1. 7

    Add Parmesan

Remove the fries from the oven and immediately sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the hot fries so that it melts slightly.

  2. 8

    Garnish and Serve

Finish with chopped fresh parsley for garnish. Serve immediately and enjoy your delicious Parmesan fries!
