Bruschetta Base

Method

Preparation of the Bread

  1. 1

    Slice the Bread

Cut the baguette or Italian bread into 1/2 inch thick slices.

  2. 2

    Toast the Bread

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the sliced bread on a baking sheet and brush both sides lightly with olive oil. Toast in the oven for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Optional: Rub the toasted bread with a cut garlic clove for extra flavor.

Preparation of the Topping

  1. 3

    Prepare the Tomato Mixture

Dice the fresh tomatoes and place them in a bowl. Chop the fresh basil leaves and add them to the tomatoes.

  2. 4

    Add Cheese and Seasoning

Cube the fresh mozzarella cheese and add it to the tomato and basil mixture. Drizzle with balsamic vinegar, sprinkle with salt and black pepper, and gently toss to combine all ingredients.

Assembly

  1. 5

    Assemble the Bruschetta

Spoon the tomato, basil, and mozzarella mixture generously onto each slice of toasted bread.

  2. 6

    Serve

Serve immediately while the bread is warm for the best flavor and texture.
