Method
Burger Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Burger Patties
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix the ingredients gently until well combined, but do not overwork the meat. Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties.
- 2
Cook the Patties
Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, place the burger patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes for medium-rare, or longer if desired. If adding cheese, place a slice on each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.
- 3
Toast the Buns
While the patties are cooking, slice the burger buns in half and toast them lightly on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.
Assembling the Burger
- 4
Add Toppings
On the bottom half of each toasted bun, place a leaf of lettuce and a slice of tomato. If using cheese, ensure the cheesy patty is placed on top of the tomato. Top with the other half of the bun.
Fries Preparation
- 5
Prepare the Fries
Preheat the oven according to the instructions on the frozen fries package. Spread the frozen fries on a baking sheet, drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle with salt. Toss to coat evenly.
- 6
Cook the Fries
Bake the fries in the preheated oven for the time specified on the package, usually around 20-25 minutes, or until golden and crispy, flipping halfway through cooking.
