For the Pane Carasau

For Serving

Method

Prepare the Dough

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt. Gradually add the water and olive oil, mixing until a dough forms.

  2. 2

    Knead the Dough

Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  3. 3

    Rest the Dough

Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for about 30 minutes.

Bake the Pane Carasau

  1. 4

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 250°C (482°F).

  2. 5

    Roll Out the Dough

Divide the rested dough into small balls. Roll each ball into a thin round shape, about 1-2 mm thick.

  3. 6

    Bake the Rounds

Place the rolled dough onto a baking sheet and bake for 3-5 minutes until the edges are golden and crisp. Remove from the oven.

  4. 7

    Double Bake

Once cooled, place each baked round back in the oven for an additional 2-3 minutes to achieve a crispy texture.

Serve

  1. 8

    Drizzle with Olive Oil

Arrange the baked Pane Carasau on a serving platter. Drizzle with extra virgin olive oil, and sprinkle fresh rosemary and grated Parmesan cheese on top.

  2. 9

    Enjoy

Serve warm and enjoy your Pane Carasau with your favorite dips or as an accompaniment to various dishes.
