Method

Smoothie Base

  1. 1

    Prepare fruit

Hull and halve the strawberries if using fresh. Peel the banana and break into chunks for easier blending.

  2. 2

    Combine ingredients

Place the strawberries, banana, Greek yogurt, milk, honey (or maple syrup), and vanilla extract into the blender jar.

  3. 3

    Blend until smooth

Secure the lid and blend on medium-high for 30–60 seconds until the mixture is smooth and homogenous. If the mixture is too thick, add up to 2 tablespoons (30 ml) more milk and blend again; if too thin, add a few ice cubes or more frozen strawberries and pulse to thicken.

Optional Add-ins

  1. 4

If using ice, add the ice cubes to the blender with the base ingredients and blend until crushed and smooth. If using chia seeds, stir them in after blending and let sit 2–3 minutes to soften, or blend them briefly if you prefer them fully incorporated. If using protein powder, add it to the blender with the other base ingredients before blending so it mixes evenly.

Garnish & Serve

  1. 5

Pour the smoothie into a glass. Garnish with a strawberry slice and a mint leaf. Serve immediately.
