Beer Battered String Beans

Method

Beer Battered String Beans

  1. 1

    Prepare the String Beans

Wash and trim the string beans, removing any tough ends.

  2. 2

    Make the Batter

In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and black pepper. Gradually whisk in the beer until the batter is smooth and free of lumps.

  3. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  4. 4

    Batter the String Beans

Dip each string bean into the batter, coating it evenly.

  5. 5

    Fry the String Beans

Carefully place the battered string beans in the hot oil in batches, frying until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve hot with lemon horseradish aioli on the side.
