Method

Burger Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Beef Patty

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with salt and black pepper. Gently mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patty

Shape the beef mixture into a patty that is approximately 1 inch thick and 4-5 inches in diameter. Make a slight indentation in the center of the patty to help it cook evenly.

  3. 3

    Cook the Patty

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patty for about 4-5 minutes on one side until browned. Flip the patty and cook for another 4-5 minutes or until it reaches your desired doneness.

Bacon Preparation

  1. 4

    Cook the Bacon

In a separate skillet, cook the Lancaster bacon over medium heat until crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove from the skillet and let drain on paper towels.

Assembly

  1. 5

    Assemble the Burger

Place the cooked beef patty on the bottom half of the burger bun. Top with the slice of cheddar cheese, followed by the crispy bacon, sweet pickled onions, green leaf lettuce, and the slice of vine-ripe tomato. Finally, cover with the top half of the bun.
