Method

Burger Patty Preparation

  1. 1

    Form the Patty

In a bowl, combine ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Form into a 10 oz patty.

  2. 2

    Cook the Patty

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the burger patty for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until it reaches your desired doneness.

Fried Onion Ring Preparation

  1. 3

    Prepare the Onion

Slice the large onion into 1/4-inch thick rings and soak in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes.

  2. 4

    Mix the Breading

In a bowl, mix together flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, and black pepper.

  3. 5

    Fry the Onion Rings

Heat vegetable oil in a deep pot to 350°F (175°C). Dredge the soaked onion rings in the flour mixture and fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes. Drain on paper towels.

Bacon Preparation

  1. 6

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the Lancaster bacon slices until crispy, about 4-5 minutes. Drain on paper towels.

Burger Assembly

  1. 7

    Assemble the Burger

On the bottom half of the burger bun, place the cooked burger patty, followed by a slice of cheddar cheese, two slices of bacon, a fried onion ring, BBQ sauce, green leaf lettuce, and tomato slices. Top with the other half of the bun.
