Method

For the House-Made Bread & Butter Pickles

  1. 1

    Prepare the Cucumbers

In a large bowl, combine the thinly sliced cucumbers and sea salt. Let them sit for 1 hour to draw out moisture. Rinse and drain well.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Pickling Liquid

In a saucepan, combine the white sugar, white vinegar, sliced onion, mustard seeds, and black peppercorns. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.

  3. 3

    Combine and Cool

Add the cucumbers to the boiling pickling liquid. Remove from heat and let it cool to room temperature. Transfer to a jar and refrigerate for at least 24 hours before serving.

Assemble the Farmhouse Burger

  1. 4

    Cook the Beef Patty

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Season the beef patty with salt and pepper. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until it reaches your desired doneness.

  2. 5

    Add Herbed Butter

In the final minute of cooking, place the herbed butter on top of the beef patty and allow it to melt.

  3. 6

    Prepare the Vegetables

Slice the vine-ripe tomato into thick slices. Rinse and pat dry the green leaf lettuce.

  4. 7

    Assemble the Burger

On a plate, place the cooked beef patty with melted herbed butter on a bun or plate. Spread the garlic aioli on the top half of the bun, layer on the sliced tomato, green leaf lettuce, and a generous portion of the house-made bread & butter pickles. Top with the other half of the bun.

  5. 8

    Serve

Serve the Farmhouse burger immediately with your favorite side dishes.
