Method

Pork Preparation

  1. 1

    Marinate the Pork

In a large bowl, combine minced garlic, orange juice, oregano, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Add the pork shoulder, ensuring it is well-coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight for best flavor.

  2. 2

    Roast the Pork

Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C). Place the marinated pork shoulder in a roasting pan. Cover with foil and roast for about 4-5 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 190°F (88°C). Remove from the oven and let it rest for 20 minutes before shredding.

Assembling the Sandwich

  1. 3

    Prepare the Cuban Bread

Slice the Cuban bread in half lengthwise. If desired, lightly toast the insides on a hot skillet.

  2. 4

    Layer the Ingredients

Spread 1 tablespoon of Dijonnaise on each half of the bread. Layer with shredded roasted pork, pepper ham slices, Swiss cheese, and pickles.

  3. 5

    Grill the Sandwich

Preheat a sandwich press or skillet over medium heat. Place the assembled sandwich on the grill and press down. Cook for 3-5 minutes on each side, or until the cheese is melted and the bread is crispy.
