Method

Burger Patty Preparation

  1. 1

    Form the Patty

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Gently mix until just combined. Form into a 10oz patty, making a slight indentation in the center to prevent puffing during cooking.

  2. 2

    Cook the Patty

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patty for approximately 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes for medium doneness. Add the cheddar cheese slice during the last minute of cooking to melt.

Topping Preparation

  1. 3

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the Lancaster bacon until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  2. 4

    Prepare Fried Onion Rings

If using frozen onion rings, cook according to package instructions until golden and crispy. If making from scratch, slice onions, dip in batter, and fry until golden brown.

Burger Assembly

  1. 5

    Assemble the Burger

On the bottom half of the burger bun, layer the green leaf lettuce, the cooked burger patty topped with melted cheddar, crispy bacon, fried onion rings, and a slice of vine-ripe tomato. Drizzle BBQ sauce on top, then place the top half of the bun.
