Burger Patty

Burger Assembly

Method

Prepare the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Make the Patty Mixture

In a bowl, combine 1 pound of ground beef, 1 tsp of salt, and 1 tsp of black pepper. Mix gently to combine.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and form each into a 6oz patty. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent it from puffing up while cooking.

Cook the Burger

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Pan

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the patties and place a slice of cheddar cheese on top. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the burger is cooked to your desired doneness.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 5

    Prepare the Toppings

While the burgers are cooking, slice the avocado and the vine-ripe tomato. Wash the pea shoots and green leaf lettuce.

  2. 6

    Build the Burger

On the bottom half of each burger bun, spread 2 tablespoons of 1000 Island dressing. Place the cooked burger patty with melted cheddar on top. Add slices of avocado, a few pea shoots, a leaf of green leaf lettuce, and slices of tomato. Top with the other half of the bun.
