Banana Juice
Method
Banana Juice
- 1
Prepare bananas
Peel the ripe bananas and cut them into 1-inch slices. Place the slices on a plate and, if you prefer a cooler, slightly frosty drink, freeze for 30–60 minutes before blending. If you want a smooth, quick juice, use bananas at room temperature.
- 2
Combine ingredients
In a blender, add the banana slices, cold water, milk, honey or maple syrup, fresh lemon juice, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. If using, add ground cinnamon and chia seeds now.
- 3
Add ice and blend
Add the ice cubes to the blender. Start blending on low speed for 10 seconds to break up the ice, then increase to high and blend for 30–60 seconds until the mixture is completely smooth and pourable. If the mixture is too thick, add up to 1/2 cup more cold water (or milk) and blend again for 10–15 seconds to reach desired consistency.
- 4
Taste and adjust
Taste the banana juice. If you want it sweeter, add an additional 1/2–1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup and blend briefly. If it tastes flat, add a few drops more lemon juice. Adjust cinnamon or salt to enhance flavor.
- 5
Serve
Pour the banana juice into chilled glasses. If desired, sprinkle a pinch of ground cinnamon on top or stir in an extra 1/2 teaspoon of chia seeds. Serve immediately for the best texture and flavor.
- 6
Storage
If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. Stir or shake well before serving; the texture may separate slightly. For longer storage, freeze in ice cube trays and blend later with a splash of water or milk.
