Method
For the Gui Chai Rice Cakes
Mix the Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine glutinous rice flour, water, finely chopped garlic chives, and salt. Stir until a smooth batter forms.
Cook the Rice Cakes
Heat a non-stick frying pan over medium heat and add a little vegetable oil. Pour a ladleful of batter into the pan, spreading it out into a round cake. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy. Repeat with the remaining batter, adding more oil as needed.
Serve
Once cooked, remove the rice cakes from the pan and drain on paper towels. Serve hot with the spicy sweet soy sauce drizzled over the top.
