Preparing the Coffee Mixture

Brew the Coffee
Brew 1 cup of espresso coffee and let it cool to room temperature.

Sweetening the Coffee
Stir in 3 tablespoons of granulated sugar until dissolved in the cooled coffee.
Cream Preparation

Whisk Egg Yolks
In a mixing bowl, whisk 3 egg yolks until they become pale and creamy.

Combine with Mascarpone
Add 1 cup of mascarpone cheese and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract to the egg yolks. Mix until smooth and well combined.

Whip the Cream
In a separate bowl, whip 1 cup of heavy cream until soft peaks form.

Fold Mixtures Together
Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully incorporated.
Assembling the Tiramisu

Soak Ladyfingers
Dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture for a few seconds until soaked but not soggy.

Layering
In a 9x9 inch dish, create a layer of soaked ladyfingers at the bottom, followed by a layer of the mascarpone cream. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with a cream layer.

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.

Before serving, dust the top with 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder and garnish with dark chocolate shavings.
