Method

Preparing the Coffee Mixture

  1. 1

    Brew the Coffee

Brew 1 cup of espresso coffee and let it cool to room temperature.

  2. 2

    Sweetening the Coffee

Stir in 3 tablespoons of granulated sugar until dissolved in the cooled coffee.

Cream Preparation

  1. 3

    Whisk Egg Yolks

In a mixing bowl, whisk 3 egg yolks until they become pale and creamy.

  2. 4

    Combine with Mascarpone

Add 1 cup of mascarpone cheese and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract to the egg yolks. Mix until smooth and well combined.

  3. 5

    Whip the Cream

In a separate bowl, whip 1 cup of heavy cream until soft peaks form.

  4. 6

    Fold Mixtures Together

Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully incorporated.

Assembling the Tiramisu

  1. 7

    Soak Ladyfingers

Dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture for a few seconds until soaked but not soggy.

  2. 8

    Layering

In a 9x9 inch dish, create a layer of soaked ladyfingers at the bottom, followed by a layer of the mascarpone cream. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with a cream layer.

Final Touches

  1. 9

    Chill

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.

  2. 10

    Serve

Before serving, dust the top with 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder and garnish with dark chocolate shavings.
